Firstly for those of you new to the Nintendo DSi series the DS stands for 'Dual Screen' and the 'i' stands for 'Individual'. This new versions is meant to be all about making the console 'individual' to the user. For example the user will have their own photographs and music to their own tastes etc.

Ok, lesson over with. The all new Nintendo DSi Console is packed full of great new features which will have all Nintendo DSi Black die hard Nintendo games fans reaching for their wallets. The DSi is both slimmer and lighter than the DS Lite and the screen is also much brighter and larger. Plus it comes in two matte colours; the Nintendo DSi Console Black and the Nintendo DSi Console White.

Nintendo have really gone for a more 'mature' audience with the DSi, as proven by the elegant and smart Matt Black finish on one the new models released. The other colour is White but there are also what looks like special edition colours also available. But these will be in short supply so if you really want to be different than all the other Nintendo DSi owners then you'll need to be both eagled eyed and quick!

Nintendo DSi Console Features

The arrival of the new Nintendo DSi has sparked a lot of interest in the gaming world. Although its release has been expected since
Nintendo DSi White late last year the new design is still a delight to many old and new Nintendo fans. With features such as photo sharing withh friends and family plus the ability to download games directly to the unit will certainly win over many new fans.

And one of the biggest features is the inclusion of 2 motion detection cameras. As the name suggests the motion cameras can detect head, arms and body movement and this can be used for a whole new level of game interactivity.

DSi Pictures
Of course one of the biggest differences betweem the DSi and the DS is the use of 2 motion cameras. These face both inwards
and outwards so users can take pictures of themselves and/or friends and family. And once you take the pictures you can then
use the on-board photo editing software to create your own funny and imaginative pictures.

DSi Music
The new DSi comes with a much improved volume and sound quality which means the ability of the DSi Console to play music
is certainly much better although the format of the music files, AAC Encoded) is not one which is well known to a generation of
iPod of MP3 players. However, the on baord software will allow users to 'experiment' with the pitch, speed and other sound effects to their music files.

DSiWare
Over the coming months there will be a number of software titles available which will allow DSi Console users to create
min-movies, using photos, or even make their very own cartoon.
Or how about the WarioWare software which takes advantage of the motion-detecting camera for a totally unique interactive
experience.
